Epoxy Use

Epoxy Definition: An adhesive composed of two liquids, a resin and a hardener, that when mixed together, harden to form a strong bond. It is not an instant bond. Epoxy is suitable for bonding porous and non-porous materials. It can usually be purchased in different setting times.

Epoxy glues will glue almost any material - they are great for metal or re-attaching your rear view mirror. They are a two part adhesive. Some you have to mix before you apply to the surfaces and others you apply one part to one one side of what you are gluing and the other part to the other side. Some you can put together right away and some require you to leave exposed to air for a certain number of minutes. Definitely read the directions as each one may be different.

JB Weld is one of the more well known. It is often uses around engines where is will stand a lot of heat exposure. Epoxy curing time is much longer than a cyanoacrylate - more like a wood glue. So, give it some time to fully cure.

You have more time to adjust placement with this glue but without clamping you will not get as tight a fit as something like a cyanoacrylate.
