Broken Ceramic

How to Fix Ceramic:

Repair all of your ceramic and porcelain collectibles and antiques with Mister Glue. Broken ceramic can be repaired in seconds (well, a couple of minutes, anyway) with Mister Glue. The cleaner the break the better. Though if there are chips missing that can be addressed as well.

Make sure that the surfaces are clean of any old glue, dirt or dust. I like to make sure that I have a good fit by putting the two surfaces together first without the glue. This also gives you the benefit of practice. You don't have very much time to move the two pieces around once you get them together so practice beforehand so that you can neatly fold the two together.

Apply Mister Glue one side only. You need very little and you do not need to rush. The glue will not set up until you put the two pieces of your broken ceramic together. If you have practiced and get a good fit the line that is left should be very faint. More like a hairline crack. The tighter or closer the fit the better. The glue does not set up as well if the gap is any size at all. With this glue you want the two pieces of your broken ceramic to fit as tightly as possible.

| find it best to leave any glue that squeezes out alone. After a few minutes it will dry and you can take an X-Acto (Exacto) knife and gently scrape off the excess. If you wipe with a cloth before dry it tends to smear and is more difficult to remove. This makes fixing ceramic pretty simple.

If you have more than two pieces that you are putting together in the puzzle practice your sequences so that you don't get a couple of pieces joined but cannot fit the last part in. Even after a few minutes this glue can bond your ceramic or porcelain antiques so firmly that it will break elsewhere than where you glue it.

If done well and the break was clean to begin with you will very likely have only a hairline crack that can be seen and sometimes that is even hard to see - that is how closely you can get the two pieces together.

If there are chips missing use a little baking soda in the hole and put a drop or two of Mister Glue on. Sand or tool it smooth. You can paint over it.
